The Dew From Heaven
I love the truth. This website is dedicated to truth. Truth is a knowledge of how things relate to one another. Our ability to recognize truth is a function of our intelligence. Some people are capable of recognizing more truth than others. Whatever level of intelligence we may possess, we can grow in our ability to recognize truth. Truth is not new. Where ever and when ever there are things that exist, there is truth. I submit that truth is eternal. And that there are eternal truths. The search for eternal truth starts with those who have come before us. Occasionally, beings of profound truth have appeared to people, beings not of this world. We call such beings angels or gods. It happens seldom enough to give skeptics pause, but it is not so rare that we should dismiss it as imagination or hallucination. The search for truth is often a search for God. When I use the term God, it comes with baggage; philosophers and prophets have been teaching conflicting ideas about God from the beginning of human history. In some theologies God is one person, entity or being, whereas in others the term is plural. For many, God is the Santa Claus of the great beyond, the arbiter of reality, and the giver of gifts to those who worship him.
I submit that we can only know God when he reveals himself to us. What God teaches us in those brief encounters can be compared with the dew from heaven; it is often more of a gentle mist than a flood of truth.
